On 31st of March 2021, Department of sociology organised an Essay competition as part of the departmental activity. The topic given was “Child labour in North East India”. Miss Elena Tirkey from 6th semester was adjudged as the winner, Mr.Akhong Nyaitok from 2nd semester and Mr.Thepongse Sangtam from 6th semester were adjudged as 2nd and 3rd runners up respectively. Cash prizes were given to all the winners. The essay competition turned out to be very fruitful and an eye opener for the students concerning issues on child labour.
