KROS Green Club.

KROS Green Club in collaboration with Nagaland Pollution Control Board organized a “Life Awareness Programme on Mission LiFE” on 10th August 2023, at KROS College Kevi Hall. The program was chaired and graced by the BA 5th semester students Miss Tatomongla and Miss Neidekhono respectively. Miss Rongsenben Longkumer Junior Scientific Assistant, NPCB, Mr. Yanthung Kithan Scientists B, NPCB, Miss Olivi G Chophy Senior Scientific Assistant, NPCB were the three main speakers. The awareness presentation were on “ ambient air quality and it’s pollution”, “ Waste management”, and “Mission LiFE”. Some of the key highlights they made were:

·        National Clean Air Programme

·        National Air Monitoring Programme

·        Air Pollution impacts on health

·        Segregations of waste

·        New policy on Solid Waste Management

·        Three- pronged strategy of Mission LiFE ie, change in demand, change in supply, and change in policy.

The awareness programme ended with students’ pledging themselves to spread the word about the India-led global movement “Mission LiFE” , inspiring others to take actions to protect and preserve the environment.
