On 4th March 2023, the Department of Political Science KROS College organized one day National Seminar on the theme, “State, Citizen and Rights” with Dr. Nongmaithem Kishorchand, Assistant Professor, Department of Political Science, LPU, Punjab as the Resource Person. He stressed on the significance of the seminar, addressing the issues and difficulties pertaining to the State, its people, and their Rights in his keynote presentation. He underlined the importance of safeguarding and advancing citizens’ fundamental rights as well as making sure that the state apparatus operates in a transparent and accountable manner.
The seminar had two technical session – technical session I & II on ‘State, Citizen and Rights’. Altogether they were nine paper presenters from different colleges and university across India. During the technical session I discussion echoed on the themes of Political Participation and Voting behavior; Gender and Conflict; and Women Empowerment. While technical session – II witnessed discussions on topics like Tribes and Social Media; Labour in Unorganised sector; Coalition Politics and Electoral Mileage; and Identity Assertion and Electoral Politics.
Earlier, welcome address was delivered by Dr. Tiamongla Kichu, Principal, KROS College and concluded with a vote of thanks by Lemchangpila Y Sangtam, Convener & Head, Department of Political Science, KROS College, Kohima.
